#39001 Desert Rover

Released back in 2011, the Desert Rover polybag was a promo with The Sun newspaper – and what a great little car this is.

I bought this recently unopened from DoneDeal.  I don’t own any other sets from the Pharaoh’s Quest range (I didn’t get it to complete a collection or anything), but it makes a great vintage car for my layout.

The sweeping wheel arches, the massive front grill and the bug eye front lights – it totally looks like this 1932 Ford (image (c) alpha coders), and for a 31 piece poly set it’s fantastic!

The poly comes with Jack Raines minifig – who cuts a swarthy figure as a thrill seeking adventurer. But like all good adventurers he needs to return home sometimes, and his Desert Rover is compact enough to get a parking space anywhere!
